The timing of these tweets and the media coverage are pretty convenient. It's pretty interesting and noteworthy these didn't come out before the Golden Globes or Cannes, where the movie won and he spoke, making a fool of himself.
I think that the people behind the scenes knew that if they didn't take some action, he would win the Oscar because voters just go along with the trends and voters might view it as a response to Trump. So, accusations of racism would work best so they can maintain the moral high ground.
The Oscar brings a level of world attention that will lead to disgust from normal people, but some of the smarter studio execs/publicists/the director knew that the backlash would be egregious and used as an example of how stupid and woke Hollywood is (and it is).
So they're sabotaging the campaign to avoid all that so he does not win. I have no proof of this, so I am just thinking what makes the most sense here.
Re: Surgery not turning men into sympathetic, vulnerable women. Yes:
"A Swedish study found that post-operative males who identify as transgender had criminal-conviction rates that were comparable to male controls. In other words, sex reassignment did not decrease men’s risk for criminal convictions. Males who identify as transgender are not dangerous to females because of their gender identity; they are dangerous because they are male.
"The study also compared conviction rates of post-op trans-identified males to those of women to test whether trans-identified males successfully became similar to women in that way. They did not. Their rates of conviction, like men’s overall rates of conviction, remained significantly higher than women’s."
His tweets aren't racist, though, unless making fun of how woke sees blacks as "monkeys" with no agency is racist? And is it "racist" to point out the misogyny of the burka?
My issue with Emilia Perez, which I liked more than anticipated, including some of the songs, is the implication that the dark, terrible side is masculine, and the light, beautiful side is feminine. However, the film does show the ravages to the family that transitioning causes -- if only viewers would notice that? And it unwittingly leaves the enabler -- the lawyer -- the only "winner" in this tragedy.
I agree that his tweets weren’t at all racist, and some of them were even funny. But anything that criticizes Islam or BLM is considered racist to some on the left.
I agree with your assessment of the film as well. Many are calling it “the worst movie of all time, which I don’t agree with. There was definitely an artful quality to at least some of it. The dichotomous nature of masculine/feminine and dark/light is totally simplistic and stupid as well, but then again not surprising when you remember so much of leftist ideology essentially boils down to woman good, man bad.
I agree too that the best part of the movie is when it shows the impact Manitas’s transition has on his family. If only that were the takeaway for more viewers. I remember seeing clips of Selena Gomez’s only solo musical number before watching it in context and thinking it must have been her reaction to having a trans husband, but unfortunately this movie is not interesting or nuanced enough to explore that dynamic in depth. A film that actually delved into the real experiences of trans widows without deifying their AGP husbands would perhaps actually be worth Oscar consideration, but alas.
I enjoy watching the insane left eat their own. The irony being his tweets were largely correct.
My take on the transgender crap:
To whom you are attracted sexually is purely subjective and therefore cannot reasonably be contested by an outside observer.
Where you decide to live your life on a spectrum of superficial, stereotypical male to female attributes (and we all do) is also purely subjective and similarly cannot be questioned.
However, your biological sex reflects an objective reality which cannot be changed by your subjective personal view and futile attempts to do so can result in serious health impacts to you as well as harms to members of the sex you are impersonating (primarily women).
Others who are grounded in objective reality should never be forced to accept your subjective version of your actual biological sex.
Finally, it's past time for the LGB community to separate themselves from the trans activists who are trying to take away the rights of women to fairness in sports and to privacy and safety in their restrooms, locker rooms and prisons. They also advocate for the chemical and surgical mutilation of children many of whom would grow up gay.
Their actions are evil and the
understandable negative reaction to the harm they are causing is spilling over to innocent people who are just going about their business, marrying and leading their lives.

I hope Demi Moore wins though.
Makes sense to me. I hope she wins too!

Perhaps you’re familiar with Vaishnavi Sundar’s Behind the Looking Glass?
